Casa Magna cigars have been called Manuel Quesada’s “greatest innovation”. Produced at Nestor Plasencia’s Segovia Cigar factory, the blend consists of an all-Nicaraguan leaf recipe grown in Estelí for strength, balanced by sweeter, milder Jalapa leaves. The smoke is full-flavored, and according to one major cigar magazine is a “full-flavored cigar, full of rich coffee notes and balanced by a cedar like sweetness with a hint of raisins.”
Owned by SAG Imports, this company was created in 1993 by the Quesada Family to provide distribution in the United States for the cigars made in their Matasa factory. SAG stands for “Sobrinos de Antero Gonzales” or “Descendants of Antero Gonzales,” who was the original member of the family to go into the tobacco business during the 1880’s in Cuba.
