Event Review: Club Macanudo Holiday Extravaganza
December 22, 2011
Mauricio Cordoba and Club Macanudo helped usher in the holiday season in style! On Tuesday, December 13, 2011, Mauricio, the general manager of New York City’s Exclusive Cigar Club located at East 63rd Street, hosted a Holiday Party for the Humidor Holders of the Club. This was a private party, not open to the public, but that did not seem to make a difference in the amount of guests that attended. The Club was filled to capacity with smiling faces – laughing and enjoying good cigars. Each guest was personally greeted by the “conductor” of this finely tuned orchestra – Mauricio himself. They all received a gift bag filled with premium cigars, a cutter, matches and a raffle ticket. The raffle ticket gave everyone present the opportunity to win a bag filled with a variety of amazing prizes, including cigars, ashtrays, hats and shirts. Just when we thought it was impossible to top the last event at the Club, we were wrong. Mauricio not only had live music, he had two bands for the guests’ listening pleasure – and boy were they terrific. Mr. Cordoba’s exquisitely trained staff permeated the rooms with delicious hors d’oeuvres and all had their choice of an array of beverages, from wine to rum to cognac and much more.
Three staff members were presented with medals of honor after being voted “Employee of the Year.” The female recipient was Gabriella, and, in the male category, both Alam and Eddie received the honor. If all this wasn’t enough, three guests were honored with the title of Ambassador to Club Macanudo. The ambassadors were presented with an absolutely gorgeous crystal plaque and touched by moving words spoken by Mauricio. It was an amazing evening, but the best part was when Mauricio was presented with a plaque from the Humidor Holders for the love, dedication and undying compassion he has for Club Macanudo, the patrons and the Humidor Holders. In addition to all of the wonderful honors bestowed on many individuals that evening, a touching tribute was made to Mr. Edgar Cullman, Sr – the first owner of Club Macanudo, who passed away this past July. Mr. Cordoba honored his memory by naming one of the rooms of the Club after him – “The Edgar Cullman, Sr. Room” – how beautiful is that. If only everyone remembered the founders of nice things in this world! Mauricio’s ideas are endless. He never tires of giving his all in everything he does. What will he do next??? Cigar Events.com can honestly say that we can’t wait to see what he has up he sleeve for the next event. As soon as we know, we will pass the word along. We highly recommend that you attend one of Mauricio’s events – we know you won’t regret it! Leave comment…
