The following is a message from George Rodriguez himself: “As some of our early followers know, we’ve been working on the ‘Boutique Blend’ for quite some time. To be perfectly honest, I was quite reluctant to do a large RG format. I’m not a huge fan of following the trends and I knew if Rodrigo were going to release a large RG we had to do it our way, which means honoring tradition and using only the best tobaccos we can get. But how do you honor tradition in what is considered a trendy format (e.g. a 6×60)? And how do you pack so much rich tobacco into a large diameter cylinder and still get a cigar that will burn? It took time and some trial and error, but William Ventura was able to crack the code once again to come up with a blend that is so satisfying that it has become the favorite among the rollers on the factory floor of Tabacalera Ventura. The goal all along of the Boutique Blend was to create a full body smoke while delivering complex flavor in a large ring gauge cigar. Contemporary, but never trendy. I think we nailed it…. if you’re in the Houston area then come out to one or both of the events and give it a shot. Let me know what you think! Smoke well… live rich…” -George
