The Last Cigar in Central Park
May 17, 2011
Beginning at the stroke of midnight on Monday, May 23, 2011, smoking cigars in Central Park (or any public park or beach) will no longer be permitted. For the past 153 years, cigar lovers were able to enjoy a leisurely smoke while visiting the beautiful park located in the center of the Big Apple. This luxury has now come to an end. Please join Aaron Sigmond, founding editor of Smoke Magazine and the Cigar Report and author of “Playboy: The Book of Cigars” and television personality Bill McCuddy, along with your fellow cigar lovers, to mark the end of an era – the final weekend one can legally puff a cigar in Central Park. Complimentary cigars will be provided by Alec Bradley, Graycliff, Guillermo Leon by La Aurora, Hoyo De Monterrey, La Gloria Cubana, Macanudo, Montecristo and Plasencia Reserva Organica. This bitter sweet event will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 1:00 p.m until sunset on Cedar Hill (79th Street and Fifth Avenue) in Central Park, New York City. The rain date for this event will be Sunday, May 22, 2011. Please show your support to the cigar industry.
