A Double Birthday Celebration at Oheka Castle – 05/13/11
May 15, 2011
Move over Prince William and Kate Middlleton. The father and daughter duo of Danny and Arielle (La Sirena) Ditkowich are giving the royal party planner some serious competition! Arielle, Danny and approximately two hundred their closest friends and family celebrated their 25th and 50th birthdays on Friday, May 13, 2011. Located in Long Island, New York, the Oheka Castle was the venue chosen to host the special event. As the guests approached the Castle, the iron gates opened and a beautiful tree lined gravel covered drive, led them to the main entrance. The entrance, sitting room and ball room of the castle were beautifully decorated with wine bottles, candles and flowers. As guests arrived, they were offered a sampling of fine hors d’oeuvres and special cocktails designed especially for the evening. Among the specialty cocktails was a martini named after Arielle (of course in purple) and a Long Island Iced Tea, named after Danny. The two looked divine, Danny in a black tuxedo and silver tie to match his beautiful daughter who stunned the crowd with a gorgeous “mermaid” style dress embellished with silver sequins made especially for her. Those who know Arielle, know that she is a beautiful young lady, and those of you who are privileged enough to have her as a friend know that her beauty is not just skin deep. She has a heart of gold bigger than the largest sunken treasure. La Sirena looked too beautiful for words as she danced the night away with friends and family. Many guest did a double take, as she truly looked like a mermaid out of water!
Guests couldn’t ask for more as they were offered a variety of different foods from an array of different stations. There was a raw seafood station, an Asian station, a Greek Station, a carving station, a mashed potato station, a pasta station, and much, much more. The music was great as was evidenced by the crowded dance floor – I’m sure there were many achy feet at the end of the evening. If the scrumptious cocktail hour and dinner weren’t enough, the variety of deserts at the end of the night were a dream come true! If one wanted it, it was there – from chocolate covered fruit to birthday cake!
At the end of the party, the cigar lovers in the crowd made there way to the beautiful court yard to enjoy a nice smoke. La Sirena herself, along with her father Danny, gave out the newest cigar in the La Sirena line, made especially for her 25th Birthday. The La Sirena “A” series was enjoyed by all! Only a limited quantity will be produced, so if you are lucky enough to get your hands on one, don’t pass it up.
If you were among the lucky ones who were able to get a room in the gorgeous Castle, you dreamt the night away in the lap of luxury and shared breakfast with the beautiful and fun-loving Ditkowich family!
Happy Birthday to two very special people! It was an honor to share this special event with you!
